I have been interested in Japanese culture since I was a child, and I have always wanted to visit Japan.
When I was a first-year university student, I had the opportunity to study in Japan for two weeks as part of a short-term study abroad program. Although it was only a short-term program, it was a very valuable experience for me. I really enjoyed learning about Japanese culture and interacting with Japanese people. My most memorable experiences were learning about the tea ceremony and sharing meals with Japanese students. In particular, I really enjoyed talking with Japanese students about cultural differences while having meals together.
Through this experience, I came to understand the differences between Thai and Japanese cultures. For example, there are differences in the way people bathe in Thailand and Japan. In Thailand, people usually take showers, while in Japan, people often take baths in a bathtub. When I first learned about this difference, I wanted to experience a Japanese-style bath for myself.
For these reasons, I decided that I would like to study in Japan again.
My purpose for studying abroad is to improve my Japanese language skills through my studies and daily life in Japan. In addition, I would like to learn more about Japanese culture and lifestyle while interacting with Japanese students.
I am especially interested in Japanese festivals. Many Japanese festivals are held according to the seasons, and each season has its own unique festivals. Therefore, I would like to experience Japanese festivals firsthand. I would also like to try the food sold at these festivals.
Furthermore, I would like to participate not only in classes but also in club activities and university events. I am especially interested in hanami, or cherry blossom viewing. I have never experienced hanami before, so if I have the opportunity, I would like to go. I think it will be very beautiful.
By interacting with a variety of people, I would like to broaden my perspective and become more confident in speaking Japanese. I hope to make use of what I learn from my study abroad experience in my future studies and career.
