The primary reason I want to study abroad stems from an experience during high school, when I participated in a project-based learning course and had the chance to interact with people from Malaysia. Before that, I had never had the opportunity to speak English, and I found it quite challenging to communicate effectively at the time. Since I aspire to work in the tourism industry in the future, I realized that I needed to pursue further language studies in an immersive international environment. Additionally, friends of mine who have studied abroad have shared how their experiences in a culture with completely different values and norms were invaluable. These influences led me to set a goal of pursuing a long-term study abroad program, ideally through our university’s well-supported exchange initiatives.
During my time abroad, I aim to systematically study tourism as well as cross-cultural understanding, marketing, international relations, and sustainability. In particular, I am eager to explore how sustainable tourism can contribute to regional revitalization. Beyond academic growth, I hope to improve my language proficiency through daily life and cultivate the flexibility to embrace and respect diverse cultures.
