Studying abroad in Japan has been one of my aspirations since I first developed an interest in the Japanese language and culture. By studying in Japan, I hope to strengthen my Japanese through authentic communication while gaining a deeper understanding of Japanese society and culture. At the same time, I wish to broaden my international perspective by interacting with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. These experiences will not only improve my language abilities but also cultivate the intercultural communication skills that are essential in today's global society. Furthermore, studying abroad represents an important step toward my future career, allowing me to explore the qualifications, professional expectations, and educational pathways required to become an interpreter in Japan.
Among all the exchange destinations available to me, Kwansei Gakuin University stood out as the university that best matches both my academic interests and personal goals. After attending the university's exchange information session, I was particularly impressed by the Japanese Language Track (JLT) and the Modern Japan Track (MJT). The combination of systematic Japanese language education and English-medium courses offers an ideal learning environment where I can continue developing both languages simultaneously, which is especially valuable for my future career in interpretation. I was also deeply encouraged by the university's strong support system for international students. Learning that the International Office actively assists exchange students and regularly organizes cultural exchange activities reassured me that I would be able to adapt smoothly to life in Japan. In addition, the beautiful campus, convenient location, and comprehensive housing support further convinced me that Kwansei Gakuin University is the ideal place for my academic and personal growth.
I believe that this exchange experience will have a lasting impact on both my short-term and long-term goals. After returning to Taiwan, I hope to continue improving my Japanese and English while sharing my study abroad experiences with students who aspire to study overseas. Having benefited from the guidance of former exchange students myself, I hope to encourage and support future students by sharing practical advice and firsthand experiences. I also plan to continue participating in international exchange activities and overseas study fairs as a volunteer, using my language abilities to help others overcome communication barriers and gain confidence in pursuing international opportunities.
In the long term, I aspire to work in Japan in a profession related to interpretation and international communication. My goal is to become a professional interpreter who not only translates languages but also bridges cultures and promotes mutual understanding between people from different backgrounds. I believe that the knowledge, intercultural competence, and practical language skills I gain at Kwansei Gakuin University will provide a strong foundation for achieving this goal. More importantly, I hope that this experience will enable me to use my language abilities to contribute to society by fostering communication, strengthening international cooperation, and building closer connections between Taiwan and Japan.
