Since childhood I have had an outgoing personality and enjoyed interacting with people. Because of this I naturally became interested in languages and the service industry. My interest in Japan first began in middle school when I started watching Japanese animation. After that I chose Japanese as my second foreign language in school and attended a language academy to continue studying the language.
One experience during my part-time job at a café had a strong impact on me. One day a Japanese couple asked me about nearby restaurants and places to visit. Although my Japanese was not fluent I searched for information online and did my best to explain it to them in Japanese. The next day they returned to the café and gave me a flower pot along with a handwritten thank-you letter. At that moment I realized that language is not simply a tool for communication but a way to connect people with each other. This small event became a turning point that made me think seriously about the direction of my future.
Through this experience I developed a goal of becoming an airport ground staff member. It is a job where I can communicate with people from many different countries while providing helpful services.
Although Korea and Japan are geographically close there are still cultural differences between the two countries. I believe that experiencing and understanding these differences firsthand is an important step toward becoming a global-minded person. Living and studying in Japan will allow me to gain a deeper understanding of the culture. It will also give me the opportunity to interact with friends from many countries and share different perspectives.
Studying in Japan will not only improve my Japanese ability but also broaden my view of the world. By developing language skills and cultural understanding I hope to grow into a person who can communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. In the future I want to use these experiences to work as an airport ground staff member and provide reliable service to passengers from around the world.
